On December 22, 2015, Biophysical Society (USA) announced the results of the competition for travel grants for the 60th Biophysical Society Annual Meeting in Los Angeles. Among the winners were also two students from our department: Katarína Macková, PhD student in Biophysics at IMPG SAS, and Barbara Hoffmannová, Masters’ student in the field of Biomedical Physics at Comenius University. Graduate students from Department of Muscle Cell Research could attend the 56th Biophysical Society Annual Meeting in 2012 thanks to the travel grants from this scientific society. The Biophysical Society Educational Committee Travel Grant was awarded to Ing. Matej Hoťka and the International Relations Committee Travel Grant ws awarded to RNDr. Radoslav Janíček.

Vicepresident of SAS doc. Albert Breier awarded on May 26 Dionýz Ilkovič Honorary Plaque of SAS for Merit in Physico-chemical Sciences at the premises of the 2nd Department of SAS in Bratislava to research scientist forn the Institute of Molecular Physiology and Genetics (IMPG) SAS, Ivan Zahradník. The ceremony was attended by member of the Presidium of SAS doc. Ladislav Petruš, director of IMPG SAS doc. Oľga Križanová, chair of the cientific Board of IMPG SAS Ľubica Lacinová and the former SAS vicepresident prof. Ján Slezák. The presidium of SAS thus appreciated the proactive approach of Ivan Zahradnik to addressing research tasks and his responsibility in carrying out duties.
